A Partnership with the City of Beaconsfield.

In March of 2024, in recognition of the important role that Beacon Hill Pool plays in our community, the Council of the City of Beaconsfield voted unanimously to help finance necessary repairs to our ageing infrastructure. The City has guaranteed up to $170,000 in necessary repairs over three years according to our capital expenditure plan.

We have already undertaken repairs to the building envelope, installed a new pool heater, and as of spring 2025, we have sand-blasted and are repainting the pool basin, including the wading pool. We are extremely grateful to council, the city, and the mayor for their support.

Federal Grant: New Pergola

We are proud to announce that Beacon Hill Pool has been awarded $25,000 towards the construction of a new shade structure to replace our ageing gazebos. Awarded under the New Horizons for Seniors Program: Community-based projects grant, the gazebo replacement project features a solid wood construction with shingled roof, aluminum fascia and eavestroughs. The new structure has already been completed, and should provide shade from the sun (and occasional rain) for many years to come.

A way of life in the West Island since 1967.

In 1966, a group of Beacon Hill residents decided to build a community pool. After extensive negotiations with the city, the pool opened its gates on August 5, 1967 to 280 eager members. Ever since, the pool has been run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors supported by the many members who donate their time and energy to make it a great place to spend the long summer days. Beacon Hill pool has been become an integral part of Beaconsfield and fostered a community that has made the Beacon Hill area an extremely desirable place to live and grow as a family.
